One of our most important products we produce at Jianjit Farm is poultry. We rear chickens for meat and eggs, and also ducks.
All of our poultry is free range, being consistent with our of having only hapy and healthy animals at Jiamjit. Free range poultry farming means that the animals are permitted to roam freely around the farm instead of being contained in any manner.We adhere to the UK department for environment, food and rural affairs definition that states that free range chickens must have access to an open air run during daytime hours during half its life.
Our chickens have free and unrestricted access to every part of the farm outdoors. Typically they spend the day playing, foraging for food and rearing their young. Our chickens feed of the natural pasture, while we also supplement their diet with chicken feed and some vitamins added to the feed.
We also have a small number of ducks at the farm. These are bred and live free range on the irrigation canals that surround and criss cross certain areas of the farm.
